Kiera Peacock | Principal

Kiera is one of Australia’s most experienced electoral, political and campaign lawyers.

Representing NGOs, political parties, candidates, and advocacy organisations, Kiera has built a reputation for handling high-profile, impactful cases. Since 2019 she has played a pivotal role in state and federal elections, as well as the 2023 Voice referendum.

Key cases include:

  • the landmark Court of Disputed Returns case of Garbett v Liu, which clarified the law on misleading advertising in elections;

  • challenge to nominated entity provisions in Victorian donation laws in Hopper v Victoria (High Court);

  • judicial review of a decision by the Attorney-General not to grant a pardon in AG (Cth) v Ogawa;

  • High Court and Court of Appeal wins relating to misleading and deceptive conduct in Wormald v Maradaca and Berry v CCL Secure;

  • legal challenges to COVID voting restrictions during the 2022 federal election.

Kiera's career in constitutional and public law, along with over a decade in commercial litigation, equips her to provide practical expert advice to those engaging at the forefront of the political process.
